Iranian Ambassador to Russia Claims US and Israel Failed in Objectives Against Iran

Kathmandu. Kazem Jalali, the Iranian Ambassador to Russia, has stated that the United States and Israel have failed in their aggression against Iran.

He asserted that the US will not be able to achieve much at the negotiating table either. In an interview with the Russian newspaper Vedomosti, he noted that while the US and Israel claimed they could conquer all of Iran and force a regime change within days, they have failed to achieve any of their goals.

According to him, US objectives during the conflict have shifted over time. At the beginning of the war, the American goal in Iran was regime change.

However, it was later limited to the demand to open the Strait of Hormuz, but the US has failed in all aspects, he said. Jalali stated that because Iran is moving forward with "firm willpower," the maritime blockade announced by the US has been practically ineffective.

He claimed that the war has made Iran stronger rather than weaker. Jalali emphasized that the US will not be able to achieve through negotiations the goals it failed to reach in the war.

Jalali mentioned that the US had initially agreed to Iran's 10-point plan but later abandoned it. According to him, what Donald Trump could not achieve through war is also not possible through negotiations.
