Bagmati Provincial Assembly Forwards Two Bills to Committee for Review

Hetauda. The Bagmati Provincial Assembly has passed a proposal to send two bills to the committee for further discussion. During Sunday's assembly meeting, the proposal to refer the Bill to Manage Economic Procedures and Financial Responsibility and the Bill to Manage Provincial Water Supply and Sanitation to the thematic committee for clause-by-clause discussion was passed unanimously.

Both bills have been sent to the Provincial Assembly's Finance and Development Committee. In the assembly meeting, Minister of Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang presented the proposal to send the economic procedure bill to the thematic committee, while Minister of Water Supply, Energy and Irrigation Krishna Kumar Tamang presented the proposal to send the water supply and sanitation bill for clause-by-clause discussion.

The bills presented by the two ministers were put to a vote by Deputy Speaker of the Provincial Assembly Apsara Chapagain. The members of the assembly passed the proposal by voice vote. The bills passed by the meeting will undergo clause-by-clause discussion in the Finance and Development Committee, where amendments will also be reviewed before a final report is prepared.

Prior to this, members of parliament expressed their views on contemporary issues during the special session of the assembly, and government ministers responded to the questions raised by the members. The provincial assembly meeting has been adjourned until further notice.
