Area Administration Office in Raskot, Kalikot to Begin Services on Monday

Kalikot. The Area Administration Office located in Raskot Municipality of the district is set to begin services starting Monday. Following the decision of the Nepal Government Council of Ministers on Magh 11, the office is commencing its operations for the first time. The office will now handle tasks including the collection of applications for citizenship and national identity cards, as well as card distribution.

Assistant Chief District Officer Janak Sharma stated that services will now be provided from Raskot with the aim of making services from the District Administration Office faster, easier, and more accessible. He noted that citizens from Raskot Municipality and the Palata, Pachaljharna, and Sannitriveni rural municipalities will benefit from the Area Administration Office.

“This arrangement will reduce the hassle for service seekers who previously had to travel long distances to the district headquarters, allowing them to receive services easily. Approximately 50,000 citizens in the region will benefit,” said Assistant Chief District Officer Sharma.

Raskot Mayor Dharmaraj Shahi expressed his happiness that the long-standing demand of the citizens in this region has been addressed. “We had been demanding for a long time that an Area Administration Office be established here to provide services. That demand has been met,” he said. “Now, the compulsion for citizens of this region to travel to the district headquarters has been removed. This will also resolve issues related to time, expenses, and other associated problems.”
