Woman killed as wall collapses during storm in Siraha

Siraha. A woman has died after a house wall collapsed due to a storm that hit Siraha on Saturday evening.

The deceased has been identified as 60-year-old Kisunwati Yadav of Sakhuwanankarkatti Rural Municipality-2, Makrampur. Kisunwati, wife of local resident Bindeshwor Yadav, was at home on Saturday evening when high-speed winds blew off the corrugated iron roof of her house. As the roof was blown away, the wall of the house collapsed, and she sustained critical head injuries from falling bricks. Police stated that she died on the spot due to the injuries.

According to District Police Office spokesperson and Deputy Superintendent of Police Ramesh Bahadur Pal, a police team reached the site immediately after the incident. He stated that the police have prepared an inquest report and sent the body for a post-mortem examination.

Police also reported that the storm that hit various districts of Madhesh Province last night has disrupted daily life, and details of damages in other areas are currently being collected.
