Kailali Customs Office Collects Over 6 Billion Rupees in Revenue in Nine Months

Kailali. The Kailali Customs Office in Dhangadhi has collected Rs 6.3271 billion in revenue. The office achieved this collection from Shrawan to the end of Chaitra in the current fiscal year 2082/83.

According to Information Officer Prakash Timilsina, the office collected Rs 2.2941 billion in customs duties, Rs 2.5224 billion in Value Added Tax (VAT), Rs 119.9 million in excise duties, and Rs 1.3905 billion under other headings during this period.

He stated that while the office has an annual revenue collection target of Rs 9.7115 billion for the current fiscal year, the amount collected in nine months represents 65.15 percent of the annual goal. Information Officer Timilsina noted that, except for Chaitra, the monthly revenue collection failed to meet the targets in any other month.

He provided details stating that in Shrawan, against a target of Rs 716.1 million, Rs 578 million was collected; in Bhadra, against a target of Rs 742.1 million, Rs 537 million was collected; and in Ashoj, against a target of Rs 767.7 million, Rs 677.8 million was collected. 

He further informed that revenue was collected throughout Kartik, Mangsir, Poush, Magh, Falgun, and Chaitra, against their respective monthly targets. 

Information Officer Timilsina also noted that in the previous fiscal year 2081/82, the office had an annual revenue collection target of Rs 11.1626 billion, of which Rs 8.6698 billion was collected. According to him, this accounted for 77.67 percent of the annual target.
