Partial influence of westerly and local winds across Nepal

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, partial cloud cover is observed in the hilly regions of the country, including Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces.

During the day, the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces will be generally cloudy, while the remaining hilly and mountainous areas, including Madhesh province, will see partial cloud cover. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in a few places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi, Bagmati, and Gandaki provinces, as well as in one or two locations in the hilly and mountainous areas of Lumbini province and the mountainous regions of Karnali and Sudurpashchim provinces.

Hot weather conditions are expected in the Terai regions of Madhesh, Lumbini, and Sudurpashchim provinces, as well as in some other areas.

Tonight, the mountainous regions of the country will be generally cloudy, with partial cloud cover expected in the hilly and Terai regions of Koshi province and other hilly areas, while the remaining Terai regions will remain mostly clear. The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall in one or two places in the hilly and mountainous regions of Koshi province and the mountainous regions of Gandaki province.
