Complaint filed with Cyber Bureau seeking removal of Mayor Balen Shah's rap battle from YouTube

Kathmandu. A complaint has been filed with the Cyber Bureau demanding the removal of Mayor Balendra Shah 'Balen's' rap battle. Former Constituent Assembly member Sunil Babu Pant has filed the complaint with the bureau. In his application, Pant has mentioned that the battle Shah performed in 'Raw Barz' should be removed from YouTube.

The complaint claims that Shah displayed obscenity in the battle. SP Dilip Giri of the Cyber Bureau told Ratopati that an investigation has been initiated into the complaint filed by former CA member Pant. He said, 'Our technical team is looking into it.'

The complainant, former CA member Pant, told Ratopati that the song, sung 12 years ago in the rap battle, is offensive. He said, 'It contains offensive words targeting the transgender community.'

In the rap battle, Mayor Shah and other youths used words like 'chhakka' (a derogatory term for transgender individuals) and rape against each other. After a YouTuber was arrested a few days ago for using obscene language against the Mayor, many shared the battle as a form of satire.

Since the song has resurfaced, gone viral, and has been viewed 15 million times, Pant has demanded that the song be removed from YouTube.
