Tribhuvan University Issues 35-Day Ultimatum to Reclaim Unauthorized Occupied Land

Kathmandu. Tribhuvan University (TU) has issued a 35-day ultimatum to individuals, organizations, and companies that have unauthorizedly occupied its land and immovable property to return the assets. The university issued this ultimatum through a public notice on Friday, following a decision by its Executive Council.

'The Tribhuvan University Land and Immovable Property Investigation Committee-2081' report revealed that land and property in various locations belonging to the university were occupied in violation of prevailing laws and university regulations. The report pointed out that some individuals, private companies, organizations, and entities have been controlling and using the university's land without authorization.

The notice issued by the TU Administration Division states, 'The land and immovable property provided by the Government of Nepal and various donors for the educational advancement of the university (whether mentioned in the report or not) must be vacated and officially returned to the university within 35 days from the date of publication of this notice.'

The university has also clarified that if the land is not returned within the specified deadline, legal action will be initiated in accordance with prevailing laws and regulations.
