Prime Minister Shah Holds Productive Three-Hour Dialogue with Chief Ministers

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra (Balen) Shah held a three-hour-long dialogue with the Chief Ministers of the provinces at the Office of the Prime Minister and Council of Ministers on Thursday. The discussion, aimed at resolving the complexities of federalism implementation, transcended a typical meeting to become a vibrant platform for seeking shared solutions. The usual political protocols and formalities were notably absent.

Prime Minister Shah's interactive style not only surprised the Chief Ministers but also instilled a new sense of enthusiasm in them. During the discussion, as the Chief Ministers presented their issues, Prime Minister Shah frequently intervened to seek clarifications and initiate debates on potential solutions.

The Chief Ministers welcomed this action-oriented approach, openly sharing their experiences and challenges, and even competed to present their concerns to the Prime Minister. The spontaneous exchange of questions and immediate responses made the discussion highly meaningful and result-oriented.

Prime Minister Shah did not merely note the concerns of the Chief Ministers but also suggested immediate solutions for several technical and practical hurdles.

Committing to initiate work immediately through a joint federal-provincial mechanism to untangle policy knots, he stated, "My government is always ready to resolve every difficulty between the federation and the provinces. That is why I invited you to the capital for this discussion myself."

Furthermore, Prime Minister Shah urged the provinces to proceed without delay on reforms they can implement immediately. He also clarified that there would be no discrimination in budget allocation.

As they left the meeting, a distinct brightness was visible on the faces of the Chief Ministers. Contrary to the rumors and discussions heard outside, they expressed their satisfaction, describing him as a person who is highly capable of listening, speaking, and grasping issues immediately.
