Nepali Congress Nominates Bharat Khadka for Public Accounts Committee Chair

Kathmandu. The main opposition party, the Nepali Congress, has decided to nominate Bharat Khadka, a member of parliament elected from Doti, as its candidate for the chairmanship of the Public Accounts Committee.

Congress MP Bhishmaraj Aangdambe confirmed that the party has proposed Khadka as the candidate. 'The party has asked to nominate Bharat Khadka,' Aangdambe told RatoPati.

Since the ruling Rastriya Swatantra Party has decided to grant the Public Accounts Committee chairmanship to the main opposition party, the likelihood of Khadka being elected chair is strong. The Rastriya Swatantra Party holds a majority in the 275-member House of Representatives and the Public Accounts Committee.
