NC leader Sitaula terms disciplinary action against Khadka as ridiculous and meaningless

Kathmandu. Nepali Congress leader Krishna Prasad Sitaula has stated that the decision to seek a 7-day explanation from Purna Bahadur Khadka is ridiculous and meaningless.

Responding to Ratopati after the disciplinary committee sought an explanation from Khadka on Wednesday, Sitaula remarked that it is laughable for a disciplinary committee formed by a body emerging from a special general convention, which they do not recognize, to demand an explanation.

He argued that since Khadka did not issue the statement in a personal capacity but as the acting president of the working committee elected from the 14th General Convention, targeting him alone with an explanation is unjustified.

'The explanation is not a personal matter for Purna Bahadur Khadka. It concerns the central working committee elected from the 14th General Convention. We have not recognized the special general convention. Until the final decision on the writ petition we filed in the Supreme Court is reached, the working committee elected from the 14th General Convention remains legitimate,' Sitaula told Ratopati. 'All these actions appearing as decisions of the disciplinary committee are aimed at shrinking and weakening the Congress. That is unacceptable to us.'
