Nine Killed in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Nine people have died in separate road accidents across various districts of the country. These accidents, occurring in Rupandehi, Bardiya, Udayapur, Sindhupalchok, Kailali, and Bhaktapur at the start of the New Year, highlight the critical state of road safety.

In Rupandehi, 22-year-old Dipesh Saru died after his scooter lost control in Bhawanipur, Devdaha Municipality-4, while 17-year-old Santosh Thapa lost his life in a motorcycle accident in Tilottama-16. Others injured in both incidents are undergoing treatment at local hospitals.

In Bardiya, 20-year-old Bimal Tharu and 23-year-old Krishna Tharu died after their motorcycle lost control last night in Badhaiyatal Rural Municipality-4. Police stated they succumbed to their injuries during treatment at Gulariya Hospital. Similarly, in Udayapur, 4-year-old Suraj Magrati died when a city safari overturned in Udayapurgadhi-7, Jogitol. The injured driver and another passenger are receiving treatment at various hospitals in Biratnagar.

In Sindhupalchok, 25-year-old Jivan Khatri died following a collision between two motorcycles at Nayapul, Balephi-8. Police have taken the other driver involved in the accident into custody.

Meanwhile, in Kailali, 33-year-old Gagan Rana Magar and 24-year-old Pushpa Sunar died after a Hiace van struck their motorcycle in Lamkichuha-7. Police have detained the driver of the van and initiated an investigation.

Additionally, 25-year-old Manish Neupane died after his motorcycle lost control in Sanothimi, Bhaktapur. Police are conducting further investigations into all these incidents.
