Gandaki Province Cabinet Reshuffled: New Ministers Sworn In

Kathmandu. All ministers in Gandaki Province have been replaced. On Wednesday, Province Chief Dilli Raj Bhatta administered the oath of office and secrecy to the newly appointed ministers upon the recommendation of Chief Minister Surendra Pandey. Under the power-sharing agreement, the Nepali Congress and the CPN (UML) have each secured four ministerial portfolios.

In the reconstituted cabinet, Jit Sherchan has been appointed as the Minister for Finance, and Nanda Prasad Neupane as the Minister for Energy, Water Resources, and Drinking Water from the Nepali Congress.

Similarly, Rekha Gurung has been appointed as the Minister for Social Development, Youth, and Sports, while Namdu Gurung has been appointed as the Minister for Forest and Environment. Previously, Dr. Takraj Gurung held the Finance portfolio, Bindu Kumar Thapa held Social Development, and Bhesh Bahadur Paudel held the Forest ministry. The Ministry of Energy, Water Resources, and Drinking Water was previously overseen by Chief Minister Surendra Pandey himself.

Likewise, from the CPN (UML), Govinda Bahadur Nepali has been appointed as the Minister for Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport Management, Yashoda Rimal as the Minister for Industry and Tourism, Laxman Pandey as the Minister for Health, and Bhim Karki as the Minister for Agriculture, Land Management, and Cooperatives.

Previously, Padma GC held the Agriculture portfolio, Krishna Pathak held Health, Prakash KC held Physical Infrastructure, and Mitralal Basyal held Tourism. The Gandaki cabinet now consists of nine members.
