Police Arrest 13 Individuals Nationwide in Anti-Drug Operation

Kathmandu. A police team on regular patrol has arrested 13 individuals from various parts of the country for possession of illegal drugs.

Sudip Kalekote, 22, of Nuwakot, was arrested from Balaju Chowk, Kathmandu Metropolitan City-16, with 640 milligrams of brown heroin.

Indian national Ajay Singh, 31, was arrested at the tunnel gate of Tribhuvan International Airport with 3 kilograms and 320 grams of marijuana. He had arrived from Hong Kong via a Cathay Pacific flight and was apprehended by a team from the Tribhuvan International Airport Security Office and the Narcotics Control Bureau.

According to the Central Police Newsroom, Manish Shrestha of Damak Municipality-9 and 30-year-old Raju Sunuwar, also known as Pape, of Damak-9, were arrested from Chiyadokan in Damak-4, Jhapa, with brown heroin and 13,000 rupees in cash. Additionally, Bidhit Bishwakarma was arrested from Bagarkot in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-15, Sunsari, with 108 Tramadol tablets, which are only available with a doctor's prescription.

Similarly, two individuals were arrested from Bhanu Chowk in Dharan Sub-Metropolitan City-2, one from Ward-7 of the same sub-metropolitan city, one from Itahari Sub-Metropolitan City-6, two from Kunwar Chowk in Ramgram Municipality-8, Nawalparasi West, and two from Thasikhel in Lalitpur Metropolitan City-5. They were found in possession of brown heroin, a digital scale, 8,000 rupees in cash, and foreign currency. The arrests were made on Monday and Tuesday.
