Devotees flock to Pashupatinath Temple on New Year 2083

Kathmandu. A significant number of devotees have gathered at the Pashupatinath Temple premises since early this morning on the first day of the Nepali New Year 2083. Believing that it will make the start of the New Year auspicious, pilgrims have been visiting the temple since dawn to offer prayers and worship.

It has been a tradition for devotees to crowd temples across the country on the occasion of the New Year. The custom of bathing in the morning, visiting temples for worship, and celebrating the New Year at home with family by preparing delicious food remains prevalent.

It is an old tradition in Nepali society to visit temples on the first day of the New Year to exchange greetings and start the year with positive thoughts.
