Nine Killed in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Nine people have died in separate road accidents. The fatalities occurred in districts including Kathmandu, Sankhuwasabha, Dolakha, and Tanahun.

In Kathmandu, at Dakshinkali Municipality-8 Chutraghari Pani Ghat, a car (BAB 5281) traveling from Birgunj to Kathmandu lost control on Sunday morning, resulting in the death of the driver. The deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Suraj Khadka, a resident of Kathmandu Metropolitan City-10, Old Baneshwor, who died on the spot.

Similarly, in Kailali, Kailari Rural Municipality-1 Hasuliya, a Bolero (Sudurpaschim Province 01-001 Cha 3753) struck a motorcycle (Ba 26 Pa 3027) on Saturday night, killing the rider.

The deceased is 22-year-old Ram Milan Chaudhary, a resident of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-19, Phulbari. He succumbed to his injuries while undergoing treatment at Nisarga Hospital, Dhangadhi. Police have taken the Bolero driver into custody.

Meanwhile, in Sankhuwasabha, a tractor (Ko 2 Ta 5354) traveling from Tumlingtar to Khandbari met with an accident at Khandbari Municipality-9, Tumlingtar, resulting in the death of 11-year-old passenger Manish Kumal.

Kumal died during treatment at Manakamana Hospital, Tumlingtar. Two other passengers injured in the accident are receiving treatment at Virat Teaching Hospital, Biratnagar. Police are searching for the tractor driver who fled the scene.

In Parsa, a motorcycle (Na 65 Pa 3334) traveling from Sirsiya to Parwanipur crashed at Birgunj Metropolitan City-22, killing the rider. The deceased is 53-year-old Basanta Kunwar Deula, a resident of Hetauda Sub-Metropolitan City-4, Makwanpur.

He died during treatment at Bayodha Hospital, Gandak, Birgunj, following the accident on Saturday afternoon. Another person injured in the crash is undergoing treatment at the same hospital.

In Tanahun, a pickup truck (Ba 11 Cha 7365) hit a scooter (Ga 19 Pa 2988) at Shuklagandaki Municipality-2, Gachhepani on Saturday afternoon, killing the rider and the passenger. The deceased are 30-year-old Ganesh Khatiwada, a resident of the same municipality originally from Panchthar, and 55-year-old Krishna Bahadur Bhujel.

Ganesh died at Tanahun Sewa Hospital, Dulegauda, and Krishna died at GMC Hospital, Pokhara. Police have detained the pickup driver.

In Kapilvastu, a motorcycle (Lu 15 Pa 3199) collided with a JCB (Lu 1 Ka 5603) at Shivraj Municipality-6, Pipari, resulting in the death of the motorcycle rider.

The deceased is 60-year-old Arulla Musalman, a resident of the same municipality-4, Bargadwa. He died during treatment at Basic Health Service Hospital, Chandrauta. Police have taken the JCB driver into custody.

In Dolakha, a JCB (Ba Pra 01-004 Pa 5440) traveling from Singati to Banchare crashed at Kalinchok Rural Municipality-3, Ekle Sallo, killing the driver. The deceased is 30-year-old Sugam Paudel Khatri, known as Bikram, a resident of Manthali Municipality-12, Gelu, Ramechhap, who died on the spot.

In Pyuthan, a tipper (Na 8 Kha 2426) hit a scooter (Lu 51 Pa 2094) at Mandavi Rural Municipality-5, Ramdi, killing the scooter rider. The deceased is 48-year-old Yam Bahadur Gharti, a resident of the same rural municipality-5, Tikhre.

He died during treatment at District Hospital, Bijuwar, Pyuthan. Police have detained the tipper driver. Authorities stated that investigations into all these accidents are ongoing.
