Two Public Transport Drivers Arrested for Drug Use in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. During a special inspection conducted near Kumari Club in Balkhu, Kathmandu, two drivers were apprehended by traffic police for operating vehicles under the influence of drugs. The arrested individuals were drivers of a passenger Hiace and an EV microbus.

A joint team from the Kathmandu Valley Traffic Police Office, the Narcotics Control Bureau, and the Balkhu Traffic Police Division carried out this operation on Saturday. During the inspection, a technical team from the Nepal Police Hospital confirmed that they had consumed drugs. 

Police took immediate action after discovering that drivers of public transport, which is considered a sensitive sector, were operating vehicles while intoxicated.

Both arrested drivers have been sent to the Kalimati Police Circle for further investigation and legal action.
