Rajasthan Royals maintain unbeaten streak with victory over Royal Challengers Bengaluru

Guwahati. Powered by an aggressive batting display from 15-year-old batter Vaibhav Suryavanshi, the Rajasthan Royals have maintained their unbeaten run in the Indian Premier League (IPL), securing their fourth consecutive victory.

In the match held at the Barsapara Cricket Stadium in Guwahati on Friday night, Rajasthan defeated defending champions Royal Challengers Bengaluru by 6 wickets. Rajasthan chased down the massive target of 202 runs set by Bengaluru in just 18 overs, losing only 4 wickets, further solidifying their position at the top of the points table.

Invited to bat first after losing the toss, Bengaluru posted 201 runs for the loss of 8 wickets in their allotted 20 overs. For Bengaluru, captain Rajat Patidar played a captain's knock of 63 runs off 40 balls, while Virat Kohli added 32 runs off 16 balls. In bowling, Rajasthan's Jofra Archer, Ravi Bishnoi, and Brijesh Sharma each took 2 wickets.

While chasing the target, Rajasthan lost opener Yashasvi Jaiswal early, but an explosive partnership between Vaibhav Suryavanshi and Dhruv Jurel changed the course of the game. The 15-year-old Vaibhav, who became the highlight of the match, played a blistering innings of 78 runs off just 26 balls.

 He struck 8 fours and 7 sixes in his innings, leaving the Bengaluru bowlers helpless. Vaibhav, along with wicketkeeper Dhruv Jurel, shared a 108-run partnership in just 37 balls. Jurel remained unbeaten on 81 runs to guide the team to victory.

With this win, Rajasthan sits at the top of the table with 8 points from 4 matches, while Bengaluru has slipped to third place with 4 points following the defeat.
