Department of Foreign Employment official arrested for bribery in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Hem Bahadur Masrangi, a non-gazetted first-class officer (Nayab Subba) working at the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal, has been arrested from the office premises with bribe money. A team from the Commission for the Investigation of Abuse of Authority (CIAA) apprehended him today with 15,000 rupees in bribe money and 77,600 rupees in cash of unexplained source.

CIAA spokesperson Suresh Neupane stated that Masrangi had accepted the bribe by promising to facilitate the processing of a foreign employment fraud case for a service seeker. The CIAA team also confiscated three mobile phones from his possession.
