RSP MP Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh Defends Support for Ruby Kumari Thakur as Deputy Speaker Candidate

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) MP Dr. Amresh Kumar Singh stated that the party is supporting Ruby Kumari Thakur for Deputy Speaker because she represents Gen Z, the Madhesi community, women, and marginalized groups in the Madhes region.

Speaking in the House of Representatives on Friday ahead of the Deputy Speaker election, he remarked that electing Thakur would honor both Gen Z and the youth.

The RSP emphasized that it chose to support Thakur, a member of the Gen Z generation, to demonstrate change through action rather than just rhetoric.

He further noted that if elected, Thakur would become the youngest Deputy Speaker in the world.

He added that the support for Thakur is also a gesture of respect for the mandate given to the RSP by the people of Madhes.
