Nepali Congress to Support Ruby Kumari Thakur for Deputy Speaker

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress has decided to support the candidacy of Ruby Kumari Thakur of the Shram Sanskriti Party for the post of Deputy Speaker of the House of Representatives. 

Lawmaker Arjun Narsingh KC stated that the decision was made during an informal meeting of the party's parliamentary committee held at Singha Durbar on Friday. 

He mentioned that lawmakers have been instructed to vote for Shram Sanskriti Party MP Thakur for the Deputy Speaker position. He said, 'We met informally to decide on supporting the Shram Sanskriti Party regarding the Deputy Speaker election. This was our previous decision, and the meeting was held simply to inform all honorable members about it.' 

The ruling party, RSP, has also decided to support Thakur. The candidates for the position are Thakur and RPP's Saraswati Lama.
