Bagmati Province Health Minister Emphasizes Bhaktapur's Potential as Tourism and Healthcare Hub

Bhaktapur. Bagmati Province Health Minister Kiran Thapa stated that fairs and festivals play a crucial role in developing Bhaktapur into a hub for domestic and international tourism, thereby strengthening its economy.

Inaugurating the 10th 'Bhaktapur Industrial, Cultural, Tourism, Agriculture, and Trade Festival' organized by Audyogik Shanti Nepal Sanstha and Madhyapur Boys Band at Sallaghari, Minister Thapa announced plans to transform Bhaktapur into a center for both tourism and healthcare. He noted that the ministry has been upgrading Bhaktapur Hospital into a well-equipped specialized facility.

Highlighting plans to develop Suryabinayak Municipal Hospital into a trauma center, Minister Thapa affirmed that the government is committed to ending situations where patients lose their lives due to a lack of medical treatment.

Festival coordinator Deepak Thapa mentioned that the 'London Bridge' is the main attraction of the event. He added that the festival has been organized annually during the New Year for the past decade with the goal of establishing Bhaktapur as a confluence of industry, culture, and agriculture.

Sandip Mahat, President of Audyogik Shanti Nepal Sanstha, informed that the festival features over 180 stalls offering daily essentials, food items, clothing, footwear, agricultural and handicraft products, local domestic goods, industrial products, IT equipment, agricultural tools, mobile phones, and a variety of cuisines, alongside musical performances.
