Arrest warrant issued against Siraha Municipality Mayor for assaulting staffer

Siraha. An arrest warrant has been issued against Dr. Navinkumar Yadav, the Mayor of Siraha Municipality. Siraha's Superintendent of Police, Basudev Pathak, confirmed that the warrant was issued in connection with the assault of an office assistant working at the municipality. 

Last Monday, Mayor Yadav verbally abused and physically assaulted 50-year-old office assistant Ramsharan Yadav with kicks and punches while he was marking his attendance.

Police stated that the victim sustained injuries to various parts of his body. After treatment in Biratnagar proved insufficient, he has been taken to Kathmandu for further medical care.

Superintendent Pathak, head of the District Police Office, Siraha, stated that a case of indecent behavior was registered against Mayor Yadav, and permission for his arrest was obtained from the District Administration Office, Siraha. 

Following the issuance of the arrest warrant, Mayor Yadav has gone into hiding. A search operation for the Mayor has been intensified.
