Prime Minister Shah admonishes Health Minister Mehta following RSP recommendation

Kathmandu. Prime Minister Balendra Shah has admonished Minister of Health and Population Nisha Mehta. 

The Prime Minister's Secretariat stated that the action was taken based on the recommendation of Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) Chairman Rabi Lamichhane. 

RSP Chairman Rabi Lamichhane had recommended the removal of Minister of Labour, Employment and Social Security Deepak Kumar Sah from his post and the admonishment of Health Minister Mehta. 

The letter sent by Chairman Lamichhane stated, 'Article 25 (4) (a) of the party statute entrusts the party chairman with the responsibility of preventing any harm to the party's ideals, principles, and dignity, and in cases of misuse of office, Article 69 of the statute provides for the party to recall individuals from their responsibilities. Therefore, I recommend removing the honorable minister from his duties and, as the expected seriousness regarding such a grave matter was not shown, admonishing the Minister of Health and Population, honorable Nisha Mehta.' 

In accordance with Lamichhane's recommendation, Prime Minister Shah has admonished Health Minister Mehta. Minister Mehta was appointed and assumed office on Chaitra 13.
