Bagmati Provincial Assembly Passes Motions to Consider Two Bills

Makwanpur. The Bagmati Provincial Assembly has passed motions to consider two separate bills. During Thursday's session, the assembly approved the motions for the Bill to Manage Provincial Financial Procedures and Financial Responsibility, and the Bill to Manage Provincial Water Supply and Sanitation.

Deputy Speaker Apsara Chapagain presented the motions for a decision, which were tabled by Minister for Economic Affairs and Planning Prabhat Tamang and Minister for Water Supply, Energy, and Irrigation Krishna Kumar Tamang, respectively. The motions were passed unanimously by the lawmakers present.

Following this, lawmakers will now have the opportunity to propose amendments to the bills. The Provincial Assembly Secretariat will issue a 72-hour notice for the submission of such amendments.

Prior to the vote, a general discussion was held on the theoretical aspects of the bills. CPN lawmaker Ratna Prasad Dhakal participated in the discussion regarding the financial procedures bill, while Dhakal, along with Congress lawmakers Ramkrishna Chitrakar and Pukar Maharjan, discussed the water supply and sanitation bill. Ministers Prabhat Tamang and Krishna Kumar Tamang addressed the questions raised during the session.

During the meeting, Chief Minister Indra Bahadur Baniya presented the sixth annual report of the Provincial Public Service Commission. Lawmakers also shared their views on contemporary issues during the special session.
