Five Killed in Separate Road Accidents Across Nepal

Kathmandu. Five people lost their lives in separate road accidents across the country on Wednesday. These tragic incidents in Kapilvastu, Rupandehi, Kailali, and Kalikot claimed the lives of individuals ranging from a seven-year-old boy to an ambulance driver.

In Gobari, Kapilvastu Municipality-6, a seven-year-old boy was killed after being struck by a motorcycle. The motorcycle, bearing registration number Lu 91 Pa 6549, hit the pedestrian, 7-year-old Suresh Kasaudhan. Suresh, who was critically injured, succumbed to his injuries during treatment at the Medical College in Bhairahawa. Police have taken the motorcycle driver into custody and initiated an investigation.

Similarly, a woman died following a collision between a tractor and a scooter at Shivalaya Chowk in Butwal, Rupandehi. The collision between the tractor (Lu 3 Ta 3817) and the scooter (Lu 92 Pa 507) resulted in the death of 38-year-old Sumitra Baral, who was riding the scooter. She passed away while undergoing treatment at Lumbini City Hospital, where the scooter driver is also currently receiving care. The tractor driver is being held in police custody.

In Kailali, near the Geta Manhara bridge, 45-year-old Om Prakash Malla died after his scooter lost control. Malla, a resident of Dhangadhi Sub-Metropolitan City-7, was involved in the accident on Wednesday night. He died while receiving treatment at Maya Metro Hospital in Dhangadhi.

Meanwhile, in Khandachakra Municipality of Kalikot, two people were killed when an ambulance crashed. The ambulance (Ka Pra 01-001 Jha 0024) lost control and fell off the road at Mayor Khola. The accident claimed the lives of 26-year-old ambulance driver Shakti Bahadur Shahi and 32-year-old Bhim Bahadur Adhikari. Both died during treatment at the District Hospital in Manma. Two others injured in the accident are undergoing treatment in Surkhet. 

Police have launched further investigations into all of these accidents.
