Nepali Congress and CPN-UML to Support Shram Sanskriti Party Candidate for Deputy Speaker

Kathmandu. The Nepali Congress and the CPN-UML have decided not to field candidates for the position of Deputy Speaker and will instead support the candidate from the Shram Sanskriti Party. 

Meanwhile, the Nepal Communist Party has yet to decide on whom to support. CPN-UML Vice-Chairman Guru Baral stated that discussions were held regarding the Congress and UML not fielding candidates for Deputy Speaker and instead supporting the Shram Sanskriti Party. He noted that the Nepal Communist Party has not yet reached a decision. 

The Shram Sanskriti Party has already collected the nomination forms for the Deputy Speaker position. The deadline for filing nominations for the Deputy Speaker is set for 2:00 PM today, with the election scheduled for tomorrow. 

As the Rastriya Swatantra Party (RSP) holds the largest number of seats in Parliament, the candidate they support will be elected.
