Four arrested for assaulting social activist in Chandragiri

Kathmandu. Police have arrested four individuals for assaulting a social activist in Kisipidi, Chandragiri Municipality-7, Kathmandu. A video of the four individuals beating a 45-year-old social activist on Tuesday went viral on social media. 

Based on the video, police identified and apprehended the suspects. Those arrested are 30-year-old Rajiv Panta, 26-year-old Rohan Panta, 31-year-old Binod Panta, and 34-year-old Asmit Sitaula, all residents of Chandragiri. 

Preliminary police investigations reveal that the attack occurred following a dispute over a water tap while the social activist was posting flyers related to a candle lighting event. The Thankot Police Circle has obtained a five-day remand to investigate the suspects for indecent behavior.
