New Police Station Building Constructed in Myagdi at a Cost of Over 35 Million Rupees

Myagdi. A new building for the Singa Tatopani Police Station has been constructed in Rakse, Beni Municipality-4, at a cost of over 35 million rupees.

The earthquake-resistant two-story building was constructed with the support of the Gandaki Province Government. The Gandaki Province Police Office, Pokhara, signed a contract with the construction company in Ashar 2081 for 35,100,729 rupees.

Engineer and Deputy Superintendent of Police Chiranjivi Pratap Mahato of the Gandaki Province Police Office stated that preparations are underway to inaugurate and bring the building into use, as construction was completed within the stipulated timeframe.

The building includes an administrative branch, holding cells for men and women, a communication room, a kitchen, barracks, and bedrooms. Since its establishment, the Singa Tatopani Police Station had been operating from a rented building.

District Police Office Chief, Deputy Superintendent of Police Surya Bahadur Thapa, stated that having their own building will facilitate service delivery to citizens and office operations. About 15 years ago, the Singa Tatopani Kunda Management Committee purchased two ropanis of land in Rakse and provided it to the police for the construction of the building.

The land was purchased using funds collected from entry fees paid by patients visiting the Singa Tatopani Kunda for bathing. Previously, the District Police Office, Kalipul, Bhurung-Tatopani, Mauwafant, and Takam police stations in Myagdi already had their own buildings.

Police stations in Darbang, Ghodepani, Babiyachaur, Galeshwor, Ratnechaur, Mangalaghat, Chimkhola, Tiplyang, Dana, Ghar, Pakhapani, and Rakhu Bhagawati do not have their own buildings. District Police Chief Thapa noted that land acquisition remains the primary challenge for constructing police station buildings.
