Man arrested for assaulting elderly individual in Kathmandu

Kathmandu. Police have arrested an individual accused of assaulting an elderly person in a public space.

Following a viral video on social media showing an assault on an elderly person in the Basantapur area of Kathmandu, police launched an investigation. During the investigation, a police team deployed from the District Police Range, Kathmandu, apprehended 44-year-old Prakash Chhetri from Chandragiri Municipality, Thankot, for his involvement in the assault.

The police stated that they have obtained a five-day remand from the District Administration Office, Kathmandu, to conduct further investigation into the case under the charge of indecent behavior, with the case being handled by the Janasewa Police Circle.
