Rabi Lamichhane Calls for Patience, Sacrifice, and Dedication to Fulfill Era's Mandate

Kathmandu. Rastriya Swatantra Party President Rabi Lamichhane has stated that everyone must show patience, sacrifice, and dedication to fulfill the mandate given by the era. He said this on Saturday by writing a status on social media.

Regarding the party's district conventions to be held today and tomorrow, he also said that it is time to transform from 'I' to 'We'. "To further expand the recent public mandate and to make politics cultured, transparent, and people-friendly, we all must show patience, sacrifice, and dedication," said Chairman Lamichhane.

He stated that the convention and general convention are not just processes for selecting leadership, but the general convention process is an opportunity to build party life, methods, practices, and healthy traditions. "This will clearly guide our future journey," he wrote.

RSP's convention is being held in 37 districts today and 29 districts tomorrow. As part of the process for RSP's first general convention, ward and local level conventions have already been completed.

Mentioning that capable, honest, and people-friendly leadership is necessary at every level for the supreme interest of the party, Chairman Lamichhane said that selecting leadership by adopting democratic methods such as dialogue, consensus, and internal elections is our culture. He said that the party will become stronger and more mature through the democratic process.

"We aim to make RSP an advanced democratic party. For that, not only our ideology but also our style, behavior, and political culture must be advanced," said Chairman Lamichhane, "We cannot become a new and refined people-friendly force by carrying old thoughts, styles, and tendencies."

He wrote that the tendency to expect promotion based on ad-hoc responsibilities distributed based on consensus in a limited scope at the time of establishment, or to seek accounting of 'contributions', is not beneficial for party life.

"It is a matter of concern that such a tendency has tried to take root in just four years, which we must correct in time," said Chairman Lamichhane, "It is the need of the hour to reduce the tendency of vying for leadership with the hope of receiving parliamentary opportunities in the future while being in party responsibility, through the democratic process of the convention itself."

Mentioning that today's success is possible due to the wisdom of the voters and the dedication of all party members, Chairman Lamichhane said that the party's journey has reached this point due to the energy and activism of the new generation on the foundation laid by the old.

"Now our goal is not just to be an alternative force, but to become a capable political force that leads the country. For that, the party must be made broader, more inclusive, and stronger. However, we must abandon the narrow concern of 'will I not remain?' as the organization expands," he said.
