8th Bagmati Gold Cup Football Tournament Scheduled for Baisakh

Makwanpur. The eighth edition of the Bagmati Gold Cup National Football Tournament, held in Bagmati Rural Municipality, is set to take place this coming Baisakh. During a press conference on Tuesday, the coordinator of the organizing Bagmati Sports Development Committee, Rahar Singh Thing, announced that the tournament will be held from Baisakh 17 to 26.

He informed that 10 teams, including the hosts, will participate in the annual tournament. Bagmati Rural Municipality Chairman Sarkesh Ghalan explained that although the Gold Cup has traditionally been held in Falgun, it had to be postponed this year due to league competitions.

Chairman Ghalan stated that the municipality, which operates its own stadium and academy, has allocated a budget of 5 million rupees for the Gold Cup.

The tournament will feature Malaysia's Penang Football Club, along with Church Boys United, Machhindra Club, APF, Tribhuvan Army, Friends Club, Planning Boys United, Bagmati Youth Club, Jitpur Simara Club, and the host team.

The matches will be played at the Sahid Smriti Stadium in Bagmati-4. The winner of the tournament will receive 1 million rupees, while the runner-up will receive 500,000 rupees. The best player of the tournament will receive 101,000 rupees, individual award winners will receive 25,000 rupees each, and the Man of the Match for each game will receive 10,000 rupees.
