Jayanti Devi Rai elected as Chairperson of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee

Kathmandu. Jayanti Devi Rai has been elected as the Chairperson of the Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee under the National Assembly. The committee meeting held on Tuesday selected Rai, a member of the Communist Party of Nepal, for the position.

The meeting was chaired by the committee's senior member, Narayan Dutta Mishra. Senior member Mishra announced that Rai was elected unopposed as she was the only candidate proposed for the position.

He stated, 'As there was only one proposal received for the position of Chairperson, in accordance with Rule 150, Sub-rule 4 of the National Assembly Regulations 2075, I hereby declare Honorable Member Jayanti Devi Rai as the unopposed Chairperson of this Federalism Strengthening and National Concern Committee.'

The meeting also included a welcome session for the newly appointed members of the committee.
