CPN (UML) female lawmakers file complaint with Cyber Bureau over rising cyberbullying against teenage girls

Kathmandu. Female lawmakers from the Communist Party of Nepal (Unified Marxist-Leninist) have filed a formal complaint with the Nepal Police Cyber Bureau regarding the recent surge in cyberbullying against teenage girls.

Eighteen female lawmakers, including CPN (UML) Secretary and House of Representatives member Padma Kumari Aryal and Central Committee member and National Assembly member Ram Kumari Jhakri, submitted a written complaint to the bureau located in Bhotahity.

The complaint highlights that teenage girls are increasingly becoming victims of mental distress due to cyberbullying, harassment, derogatory behavior, hate speech, and negative commentary on social media and various virtual platforms.

The complaint states that such behavior has severely impacted their self-esteem, mental health, and social security. The lawmakers have demanded a swift and effective investigation into these cyberbullying cases and have called for immediate protection and justice for the victims.
