Nepathya to Embark on Multi-City Concert Tour Across Canada

Kathmandu. The Nepali folk-rock band Nepathya is set to perform a series of musical shows in Canada. The band will hold concerts in the Canadian cities of Sudbury, Toronto, and London (Ontario). Nepathya's first performance will take place on Friday, April 10, at the 'Sudbury Community Arena' in Sudbury. On Monday, April 13, the band will perform at the 'Queen Elizabeth Theatre' in Toronto. This venue, located in the western part of the city's main exhibition center, is renowned as a modern concert hall. The final show of the tour will be held on Saturday, April 18, in London, where Nepathya will perform at the 'London Music Hall'.

Three years ago, Nepathya performed a series of shows in Calgary, Vancouver, and Toronto. This time, all three Canadian cities are located in the province of Ontario, which borders the northeastern part of the United States. This region, which includes the major economic hub of Toronto, has a significant Nepali presence. In recent times, Canada has become an attractive destination for Nepali immigrants, with a steady increase in the number of Nepali students moving there for studies.

With the growing Nepali population, the state's attention is increasingly drawn toward their respectable presence. A few weeks ago, Councilor Nathan Shan proposed to the Mayor of Toronto that April 10-17 be celebrated as 'Nepali Heritage Week'. This proposal, initiated by the 'Nepalese Canadian Community Services', is currently under consideration. Once approved, the metropolitan city will incorporate it into its official programs. The timing of Nepathya's tour coincides with this period, which is based on the Nepali New Year. Doors for the Nepathya concerts in all three Canadian cities will open at 7 PM local time.

'Breaking the tradition of Nepali performers visiting Canada only while on tours to America, Nepathya conducted its first dedicated concert series in that country three years ago,' says Kiran Krishna Shrestha of nepa-laya, who manages the band. 'As a result, Canada has now become a regular destination for our tours.' He notes that along with the pride of the Nepali community living in Canada, the love they show for Nepali artists is also growing.

Nepathya strives to maintain consistency in its performances regardless of where they are in the world. As with previous international tours, a team of 14, including 6 artists and 8 technicians and managers, has already departed for Canada. The team will remain there until April 20.
