Christians in Nepal Celebrate Easter Sunday with Rallies and Special Programs

Kathmandu. Christians across the world are celebrating Easter Sunday today. On the occasion of Easter Sunday, a rally and special program have been organized in the capital, Kathmandu. 

The rally, which started from various parts of the valley, converged into a formal program at the Dasharath Rangasala. Easter Sunday is celebrated with the belief that Jesus Christ was resurrected three days after being crucified. 

According to the Bible, two thousand years ago on a Friday, Jesus was crucified on a mountain in Jerusalem, and he was resurrected on the third day, which fell on a Sunday. 

Easter Sunday is also regarded as the day of the resurrection of Jesus. It is mentioned that after his resurrection on Easter Sunday, Jesus lived for another 40 days, during which he taught his followers before ascending to heaven.
