Police raid three gambling dens in Bhaktapur, 19 arrested

Kathmandu. Police have raided three gambling dens operating in Bhaktapur. During the operation, 19 gamblers were arrested. SP Surya Khadka of the District Police Range, Bhaktapur, told RatoPati that the suspects were taken into custody after raids on Saturday evening.

Seven people were arrested while playing cards at the house of Deepak Prasad Timalsina in Sudal, Changunarayan Municipality-8. Those arrested include gambling den operator Deepak Timalsina, Shyam Khadka, Kiran KC, Rajesh KC, Anik Ghorasaini, Sudarshan Thapa, and Dipendra Silwal. Police recovered 27,000 in cash from the scene.

Police also arrested 7 people along with 23,000 in cash from a gambling den operating in Chapakot, Sudal. Those arrested from Chapakot include Sanukaji Khatri, Bishnu Shrestha, Krishna Prasad Rijal, Rabindra Khadka, Madhav Gotame, Pujan Ranjitkar, and Bikram Dahal.

Similarly, SP Khadka stated that 5 people were arrested along with 20,000 in cash from a gambling den operating in Pipeline, Bhaktapur Municipality-10. Those arrested include Buddhi Bahadur Tamang, Rajesh Nhemaphuki, Suman Gwacha, Nani Shahi, and Kumar Shrestha.
