Four arrested in Kathmandu for multi-million rupee foreign employment fraud

Kathmandu. A team from the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office has arrested and publicly identified four individuals for allegedly defrauding people of Rs 7.37 million under the pretext of sending them for foreign employment.

According to Superintendent of Police Manohar Prasad Bhatta of the Kathmandu Valley Crime Investigation Office, the arrested individuals are 52-year-old Karna Bahadur Raut from Kalimati Rural Municipality-7, Salyan; 42-year-old Ananda Thapa from Bhanu Municipality-12, Tanahun; 39-year-old Radhika Pathak Paudel from Kawasoti Municipality-3, Nawalparasi (East); and 47-year-old Tilak Pariyar from Sundar Haraicha Municipality-3, Morang.

He stated, "Based on complaints, Raut was arrested for allegedly taking Rs 5.7 million promising jobs in Finland, Thapa for taking Rs 450,000 for Malta, Paudel for taking Rs 420,000 for Finland, and Pariyar for taking Rs 800,000 for Serbia." Superintendent of Police Bhatta confirmed that all four individuals have been sent to the Department of Foreign Employment in Tahachal for further investigation and necessary legal action.
