Weather Forecast: Moderate to Light Rain with Thunderstorms Expected Across Most Places

Kathmandu. According to the Meteorological Forecasting Division, there is a possibility of moderate to light rain with thunderstorms and lightning in most places on Saturday afternoon and night. Currently, the monsoon wind is affecting the whole country.

Pokhara has the highest probability of 80 percent rain this afternoon. The maximum temperature in Pokhara is estimated to be between 28 to 30 degrees Celsius. Kathmandu, Dhankuta, Jiri, and Taplejung have a 70 percent chance of rain this afternoon. The maximum temperature in Kathmandu and Taplejung is expected to be between 28 to 30 and 26 to 28 degrees Celsius respectively. 

The maximum temperature in Dipayal will reach the highest at 34 to 36 degrees Celsius this afternoon. In Jomsom, the probability of rain this afternoon is the lowest at only 30 percent. The maximum temperature there is estimated to be between 22 to 24 degrees Celsius. Dadeldhura, Dhangadhi, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, Simara, Okhaldhunga, Biratnagar, and Dharan have a 60 percent chance of rain this afternoon. Jumla and Janakpur have a 40 percent chance of rain.

According to the night weather report today, Pokhara has a 70 percent chance of rain. The minimum temperature there is expected to be between 23 to 25 degrees Celsius. Dadeldhura, Dipayal, Birendranagar, Nepalgunj, Ghorahi, Bhairahawa, Simara, Kathmandu, Okhaldhunga, Biratnagar, Dharan, and Taplejung have a 60 percent chance of rain tonight. Tonight, Jumla, Jomsom, and Janakpur are likely to experience light rain with thunderstorms and lightning. The probability of rain in these three cities is 30, 30, and 40 percent respectively.

 Tonight, Dhangadhi has a 30 percent chance of rain, while Dhankuta and Jiri have a 40 percent chance. The lowest minimum temperature tonight will be in Jomsom, between 14 to 16 degrees Celsius. In Dhangadhi, the highest minimum temperature is estimated to be between 26 to 28 degrees Celsius.
