One dead, one injured after building collapse in Jhapa

Jhapa. One person has died and another was injured after falling from the roof while demolishing a two-story concrete house at Sangam Chowk in Bhadrapur Municipality-6, police reported.

According to District Police Office spokesperson Khagendra Bahadur Khadka, the deceased has been identified as 34-year-old Open Rajbanshi, a resident of Rajan Chowk, Bhadrapur Municipality-5.

Rajbanshi and 35-year-old Dharmendra Yadav of the same ward were injured after falling from the roof when a beam collapsed during the demolition of a two-story concrete house belonging to Bhadrapur Municipality Deputy Mayor Radha Karki, located at Sangam Chowk.

Spokesperson Khadka stated that both injured individuals were rushed to Omsai Pathibhara Hospital in Bhadrapur, where doctors declared Rajbanshi dead upon arrival. Yadav is currently undergoing treatment at the same hospital.
