Morang Police Arrest Man for Forging Government Documents and Fraud

Biratnagar. Morang police have arrested an individual on charges of defrauding the public by forging government seals and official signatures. The arrested individual is 37-year-old Kamal Kumar Swarnakar, a resident of Biratnagar Metropolitan City Ward No. 6.

Swarnakar, who worked as a scribe at the Transport Management Office premises in Kharji, Biratnagar-4, was found to have forged government seals and signatures under the pretext of renewing vehicle registration books (Bluebooks).

On Chaitra 16, Swarnakar was entrusted with the renewal of a motorcycle Bluebook (registration number Ko 39 Pa 9579). Police received information that he had defrauded the owner by forging the official seal of the Transport Office and the signature of a sixth-level officer to falsely claim the renewal was complete.

Acting on this information, a team from the District Police Office, Morang, apprehended Swarnakar from the Transport Office premises. During a search of his residence, police recovered 11 additional vehicle registration books. Authorities suspect he may have defrauded many other individuals in a similar manner.

Police stated that Swarnakar has been remanded by the Morang District Court, and further investigations into forgery and fraud charges are underway.
