Preparations Intensify for 21st Fewa New Year Festival in Pokhara

Pokhara. Preparations for the Fewa New Year Festival, held annually in Pokhara to mark the New Year, are in full swing. Organized by the Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal, the 21st edition of the festival is scheduled to take place from Chaitra 29 to Baisakh 1.

Laxman Subedi, President of the Hotel Association Pokhara, stated that preparations for the festival, which begins on Chaitra 29, have reached the final stage. He noted that the event, running until Baisakh 1 along the road between Khahare Chowk and Shahid Chowk, will highlight tourism, culture, and local cuisine.

Key attractions of the festival include cultural programs, food exhibitions, traditional Panchebaja competitions, tourist races, and concerts aimed at attracting visitors.

To ensure the success of the festival, the Hotel Association Pokhara, in collaboration with the Nepal Tourism Board Gandaki Province, has promoted the event across various cities in Nepal through the 'Jau Hai Pokhara' campaign. Organizers aim to attract approximately 300,000 domestic and international tourists to Pokhara during the festival period.

The Hotel Association Pokhara Nepal currently has about 425 member hotels, providing direct employment to over 15,000 staff members.
