Nepal Weather Update: Partial Influence of Westerly and Local Winds Expected

Kathmandu. The Department of Hydrology and Meteorology has reported that Nepal is currently experiencing the partial influence of westerly and local winds. As a result, the mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces are mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country remains partly cloudy.

This afternoon, the mountainous regions of all provinces, along with the hilly regions of Gandaki, Lumbini, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces, are expected to be mostly cloudy. There is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in a few places in the mountainous regions of Gandaki and Karnali provinces, and in one or two places in the remaining mountainous and hilly regions. Gusty winds are also expected in some places across the Terai regions of all provinces.

Tonight, the hilly and mountainous regions of Gandaki, Karnali, and Sudurpashchim provinces will remain mostly cloudy, while the rest of the country will be partly cloudy.

The Department has stated that there is a possibility of light rain and snowfall accompanied by lightning in one or two places in the mountainous regions of Koshi, Gandaki, and Karnali provinces. Gusty winds are also expected in some places across the Terai regions of all provinces.
