CPN-UML Protests Discrepancies in Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission Report

Kathmandu. The CPN-UML has expressed strong objections to the report submitted by the Gauri Bahadur Karki Commission, formed to investigate the Gen-Z movement, citing inconsistent decisions regarding the events of Bhadau 23 and 24.

During the first session of the House of Representatives on Thursday, the UML drew the government's attention to the matter through the Speaker. At the start of the meeting, UML lawmaker Guru Baral demanded the immediate release of former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli and Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak, alleging that the government had subjected them to illegal detention.

Citing the Karki-led report, he further demanded a re-investigation, noting that the report remained silent on the destruction that occurred on Bhadau 24.
