Nepali Congress Disciplinary Committee Issues Warning to Purna Bahadur Khadka

Kathmandu. The Disciplinary Committee of the Nepali Congress has decided to issue a formal warning to outgoing Acting President Purna Bahadur Khadka.

The committee, which met at the party's central office in Sanepa on Wednesday, decided to reprimand Khadka for issuing an unauthorized statement using a forged letterhead that claimed a position he does not hold.

'It is wrong to use a fake Nepali Congress letterhead in various media and social networks to claim a responsibility that one does not possess, as seen in the unauthorized statement issued on 2082 Chaitra 14. Therefore, a warning is issued,' stated the release issued by committee secretary Dinesh Thapa Magar after the meeting.

Khadka had issued a statement on the party's letterhead last Saturday protesting the arrest of leader Ramesh Lekhak while claiming the title of Acting President. The committee has decided that any future issuance of such statements will lead to disciplinary action in accordance with the party's statute and prevailing laws.

'From now on, the party decides to initiate disciplinary proceedings against anyone engaging in such misconduct, in accordance with the Nepali Congress Statute, 2017 (with amendments) and prevailing Nepalese law,' the statement added.

The committee, chaired by Central Member Taraman Gurung, includes members Dhana Khatiwada and Subas Pokharel. According to coordinator Taraman Gurung, the meeting concluded that it was improper for Khadka to use a fake letterhead to claim a position he does not hold. A warning has been issued that failure to cease such activities will result in strict action under the party's statute and existing laws.
