Nepali Congress leader Dr. Chandra Bhandari criticizes internal party factionalism

Kathmandu. Influential Nepali Congress leader Dr. Chandra Bhandari has expressed dissatisfaction with the parallel activities emerging within the party and the conduct of senior leaders.

Through social media, he urged senior leaders to engage in restrained and responsible politics. Targeting the activities of the group led by former acting party president Purna Bahadur Khadka and leader Shekhar Koirala, he remarked that such behavior is unbecoming of veteran leaders.

‘Is fighting politics? Is fighting the identity of Nepalis? Fighting in defeat, fighting in victory; neither patience nor procedure, shouldn’t veteran leaders act like veterans?’ he questioned.

Leader Bhandari indirectly labeled the activities of the Khadka-Koirala group as undisciplined. He expressed that it is unfortunate for such activities, which send the wrong message, to come from senior leaders. 

According to leader Bhandari, while opinions may differ within democratic practice, leading them toward conflict and division is wrong. He has called upon all leaders and cadres to move forward responsibly while remaining within the party's procedures and values.
