Spring Rice Planting Underway Across 1,100 Hectares in Udayapur

Gaighat. Spring rice (Chaitay Dhan) has been planted across 1,100 hectares in various parts of the district.

According to Sangeeta Gyawali, Information Officer at the District Agriculture Knowledge Center, spring rice is cultivated on 1,500 hectares annually in the district. She stated that planting on the remaining 400 hectares is expected to be completed within this month. "As planting is actively underway in the fields, I expect it to be finished this month," she said.

Among the eight local levels in the district, the highest concentration of spring rice cultivation is in Udayapurgadhi and Rautamai rural municipalities. Spring rice is also cultivated in Tapli Rural Municipality, as well as Katari, Triyuga, and Chaudandigadhi municipalities.
