Nepal Electricity Authority Begins Employment Process for Families of Janakpur Protest Martyrs

Kathmandu. The decision to provide employment at the Nepal Electricity Authority (NEA) to the family members of the martyrs of the Janakpur (J-E-N-G-I) movement held on Bhadra 23 and 24 has been implemented.

The Authority has verified the applications received from 27 family members of the Janakpur movement martyrs and has moved forward with the process of providing them employment. Based on their educational qualifications, arrangements have been made to offer them contractual appointments up to a maximum of three levels in various NEA offices convenient for them.

The NEA Board of Directors meeting held on Poush 22 last year had decided to provide employment to the martyrs' families. Kulman Ghising, while holding the responsibility of the Minister for Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation, had passed the proposal to provide employment.

The notice issued by the Authority states: “In relation to the provision regarding employment for the family members of the martyrs, as mentioned in Clause No. 11 of the Procedure for Providing Relief Assistance to Persons Injured in the J-E-N-G-I Demonstration and Movement of Bhadra 23 and 24, 2082, the Authority has received applications submitted by the following individuals for employment, accompanied by the letter dated 2082/09/20 from the Ministry of Energy, Water Resources and Irrigation of the Government of Nepal. Therefore, this notice is published for the information of stakeholders, requesting anyone who has a claim to the benefits to be received by the martyrs' families, other than the individuals listed, to contact the Nepal Electricity Authority, Kathmandu, with proof within 35 days from the date of this publication.”
