Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak Presented Before Kathmandu District Court

Kathmandu. Former Home Minister Ramesh Lekhak has been presented before the court by the police. The police presented him before the Kathmandu District Court on Sunday morning via the District Government Attorney's Office.  

Former Prime Minister KP Sharma Oli has not yet been taken to court. The hearing regarding the remand extension for both is expected to take place in the bench of Judge Anand Shrestha. However, after Lekhak was presented before the bench, the judge reportedly instructed that the other accused also be brought to court.  

Oli, who is currently at Tribhuvan University Teaching Hospital for treatment, is being prepared by the police to be taken to court from there.  Oli and Lekhak were arrested under criminal charges for suppressing the Jengji protestors on Bhadra 23 and 24. The investigation commission led by Gauribahadur Karki, formed to investigate the incident, has recommended up to 10 years of imprisonment for Oli and Lekhak.
