Seventh Edition of Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon Set for Baisakh 26

Jumla. The seventh edition of the Jumla-Rara Ultra Marathon is scheduled to begin on Baisakh 26. Saroj Shahi, Chairman of the Karnali Sports Club which is organizing the event, informed that the marathon, which will feature national and international athletes, will start from the Jumla headquarters, Khalanga Bazaar.

A notice has been published inviting participation in the competition. Chairman Shahi stated that the competition is being organized with the objective of promoting the natural beauty and adventure sports tourism of the Karnali region.

Under the competition, in which runners from various countries will participate, employees, industrialists-businesspersons, and interested individuals can take part in the five-kilometer race. The registration fee for this category has been set at NPR 500. The registration fee for the ten-kilometer race has been made free for children under 18 years of age.

For the 51-kilometer race of the competition, a fee of NPR 3,000 has been set for local runners and NPR 5,000 for other runners. Chairman Shahi informed that the prize for the first place in the five-kilometer race is NPR 5,000, the second place is NPR 3,000, and the third place is NPR 2,000.

Furthermore, prizes have been arranged as follows: NPR 10,000 for the first place, NPR 7,000 for the second, and NPR 5,000 for the third in the ten-kilometer category; and for the 51-kilometer category, NPR 100,000 for the first place, NPR 75,000 for the second, NPR 50,000 for the third, and NPR 20,000 each for the fourth and fifth places.

The club has announced that registration for participation in the competition must be completed by Baisakh 20.
